99VPEN’s vision statement is to establish the premier networking and professional development organization, upholding the ABWA Mission Statement, for the greater Victoria area.

VPEN is the local league of ABWA.  When you join VPEN you also join the national organization, ABWA. Being part of VPEN and ABWA makes you eligible to capitalize on the benefits of membership where you can network with local business professionals.  In addition, you have access to many leadership opportunities to grow your network and knowledge through on-line courses, working on committees and monthly meetings.  The added benefit of our membership is the amazing women you will meet.

ABWA National Dues are $115 and our local Dues are $30 annually.

VPEN meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 11:30-1:00 at the Victoria Country Club.

NOVEBER WOMAN OF THE MONTH

DENISE HARTMANN

She was born and raised in Houston, Texas. After graduating high school she worked for management companies for two shopping centers.  Greenspoint Mall,  I had many hats, working in Marketing, Operations, Security and accounting in the 10 year that I worked there.  She then moved to Katy Mills Mall where she worked Human Resources and Security.  Opportunity came to work in Commercial Insurance.  She left the mall business and went to get my Insurance License.   Once licensed, she built her book of business of Oil & Gas Clients for the 10 years she was at Insurance Alliance.
With her husband’s mother and step-father passing, they both retired from their current jobs and made the move to Victoria in 2011.  Starting working at Northside Ranch, Pet & Garden Center in 2011 handling the marketing and insurance program for all three stores.
 
Denise has two children, daughter Christy and Son Brent and three grandsons,  Logan, Hunter and Colton .  She is also the proud Mom of 3 Toy Australian Shepherd Dogs, Wrangler, Jordache and Riata.  When she is not spoiling her grandsons or dogs, she participates in many organizations,  Board Member of the Boys & Girls Club of Victoria,  Victoria Go- Texan Committee, and VPEN along with fundraisers and benefits throughout the year.

Empowering Women through Educational Scholarships

Today’s scholarship recipients are tomorrow’s leaders.  ABWA members have provided opportunities for women to achieve their personal and professional best by championing educational opportunities through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund (SBMEF). Since 1953, SBMEF has awarded almost 18 million dollars in scholarships to more than 17,000 women. To learn more about available scholarships, go to sbmef.org.
