VPEN’s vision statement is to establish the premier networking and professional development organization, upholding the ABWA Mission Statement, for the greater Victoria area.
VPEN is the local league of ABWA. When you join VPEN you also join the national organization, ABWA. Being part of VPEN and ABWA makes you eligible to capitalize on the benefits of membership where you can network with local business professionals. In addition, you have access to many leadership opportunities to grow your network and knowledge through on-line courses, working on committees and monthly meetings. The added benefit of our membership is the amazing women you will meet.
ABWA National Dues are $115 and our local Dues are $30 annually.
VPEN meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 11:30-1:00 at the Victoria Country Club.

JULY WOMAN OF THE MONTH
Kaylene Hidalgo is a Certified Paralegal at Kliem & Associates. She was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas but has lived in Victoria for approximately 17 years. She has two wonderful children Kayla who is 27 and a RN at Providence Health Care Center in Waco, Texas and Hunter who is 25 and an Associate Relationship Manager at Frost Bank in Houston, Texas. She recently was blessed and married an amazing man, Tony Diaz. Kaylene has been in the legal profession since 1986 and has worked in various fields of law, including working for the Attorney General’s Office. She even had the opportunity to set up a Paralegal Program and was a Paralegal Instructor in 2003. Kaylene became a Certified Paralegal through the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) in 2002. She has been a member of the ABWA and VPEN for one (1) year. Kaylene attended the 2019 Regional Conference for ABWA and will be attending the 2019 National Conference. She participated as a model in the 2019 VPEN Fashion Show. Kaylene will serve as the VP of Finance for the 2019-2020 year.
Empowering Women through Educational Scholarships
Today’s scholarship recipients are tomorrow’s leaders. ABWA members have provided opportunities for women to achieve their personal and professional best by championing educational opportunities through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund (SBMEF). Since 1953, SBMEF has awarded almost 18 million dollars in scholarships to more than 17,000 women. To learn more about available scholarships, go to sbmef.org.
